  • Having a Bachelor's, Post Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Science with Biology
  • Minimum work experience of two years in the last five years 
  • Minimum score of 6.5 in every band of IELTS 

Being an overseas registered nurse, you are supposed to apply to The Credentials Verification Service. The authenticity of your details will be verified by CGFNS International. Afterward, the details will be sent to the Nursing Council.

If everything seems to be appropriate as per their observation, then obtaining a registration will become easy. Otherwise, completing a Competency Assessment Programme (CAP) will be the best alternative to get registration.

Is a Student Visa Required to Appear for the Competence Assessment Programme?

The CAP is a special type of short training that enables overseas registered nurses to meet the competence needs as specified by the nursing council. Once done successfully with this six weeks of training, you will become eligible to become a NZ registered nurse.

You need not be a genuine holder of a study visa for New Zealand to complete the CAP course.
