If your situation has changed since you received your visa or if you no longer match the requirements, you might not be permitted to enter New Zealand on your current student visa immigration NZ. For instance, if the course or educational institution you are attending has altered from what is specified in your visa's terms.
You must have current documentation proving you still meet the requirements of your student visa if you plan to travel while holding a valid student visa. When visiting New Zealand, you can be requested to present this.
You might need to provide:
- that you have the means to support yourself while you are in New Zealand.
- certification that you are enrolled in or will re-enroll in the course at the same educational institution for which your student visa was issued.
If you are unsure if you can enter New Zealand on your existing student visa immigration NZ, get in touch with your educational institution or Immigration New Zealand.
If You Are a Traveler With a Tourist Visa or a Visa Waiver
If you are a legitimate visitor with a valid visiting visa or are from a nation that does not require a visa (and have a NZeTA), you may travel to New Zealand.
If you currently hold a visitor visa or are a guest who is exempt from the need for a visa, you are eligible to enroll in a short course with a maximum duration of three months. Taking a brief English language course or, in the case of school-age children, enrolling them for up to three months at a time at a New Zealand school are two examples.
